Stephanie Feldstein is Senior Organizer of the Animals cause on Change.org, the world’s fastest growing social change platform. She has been advocating for animals since she was old enough to understand where the fur in fur coats came from, and has been writing stories since she learned to write.
Stephanie earned her B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan, where she received a Hopwood Award for poetry. She has been involved in animal rescue for over a decade, specializing in misunderstood breeds and animals with issues. Stephanie lives in Michigan with an assortment of adopted dogs and cats, where she is currently working on her next novel.

Extended Writing Bio
Stephanie earned her B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan, where she won the Hopwood Award and Jeffrey L. Weisberg Memorial Award for poetry. After graduation, she became active in the local writing community, participating in poetry readings throughout southeast Michigan, including A Night Out in Ann Arbor with Garrison Keillor and the United Nations’ Dialogue Among Civilizations project. She was a runner-up in the Allen Ginsberg Memorial Poetry Contest and was awarded the bronze medal for modern poetry in Logic Alley’s Poetry Olympics. She also co-founded a weekly critique group, which is still going strong today and has been invaluable over the years, particularly during her transition from poet to novelist. She is currently at work on her next novel.

Stephanie has been advocating for animals since she was old enough to understand where the fur in fur coats came from. In college, she began working at the local humane society. Since then, she's continued to volunteer for several humane organizations in various capacities, including adoption counselor, trainer and foster home. She is currently the president of the board of Pit Bull Rescue Central.
Stephanie lives in Michigan with her assortment of cats and dogs (always including a pit bull or two), and the occasional foster animal that needs help finding a home. She is Senior Organizer of Change.org's Animals cause.
