Writing Bio: Stephanie Feldstein has a B.A. in Creative
Writing from the University of Michigan. She graduated from
the program with honors, also earning the Hopwood Award
for Poetry and the Jeffrey L. Weisberg Memorial Award for
Poetry while at the university. She has participated in poetry
readings throughout southeast Michigan, including A Night
Out in Ann Arbor with Garrison Keillor and the United
Nations’ Dialogue Among Civilizations project. She was a
runner-up in the Allen Ginsberg Memorial Poetry Contest and
was awarded the bronze medal for Modern Poetry in Logic
Alley’s Poetry Olympics. Living with the Bull is her first novel.
Animal Bio: Stephanie Feldstein has been involved with
animal rescue since 1998 when she began working at the
Humane Society of Huron Valley. After she left the Humane
Society, she continued to be deeply involved with local
rescue groups and became a volunteer at the Michigan
Humane Society. Over the years, she has been a volunteer
foster home, assistant dog trainer, and leader of a team of
volunteers getting adoptable animals on petfinder.com. She
continues to answer behavior helpline calls for the Michigan
Humane Society in addition to helping local rescue groups.
Stephanie sits on the Board of Directors of Pit Bull Rescue
Central, an online resource dedicated to helping pit bull dogs
find loving, responsible homes and to restoring the positive
image and honor of these dogs. She lives with two pit bulls of
her own, in addition to two shepherd mixes, four cats, and
the occasional foster dog that needs help finding a home.
