Living With the Bull
Jennifer Weisman is one letdown away from losing her
apartment and ending up back at her parents’ house; a
failure at being an independent adult. Then she meets
Oscar, a pit bull with a less-than-enviable past. Jennifer
decides to adopt him, hoping that helping him will rescue
her, too.
But getting a second chance turns out to be much harder
than keeping the dog bowl full of kibble and a roof over
their heads. Oscar is more than just a symbol that
Jennifer can pull herself back together; most of the time
he’s the only sane, non-judgmental companion in her life. It’s bad enough that her family doesn’t think
she’s capable of nurturing a pet rock, but her mother wonders who will ever marry a woman with a pit bull.
Even her closest friends question her decision to adopt a dog like this. Jennifer is accosted by strangers,
ostracized at her new job, and when she finally meets a seemingly sensitive guy, she discovers that he’s
interested in Oscar for all the wrong reasons.
When a local dog attack makes headlines, Jennifer must find the strength to stand up for herself and her
dog before she loses everything she’s worked for – her home, her self-respect, and her best friend.
